Bands & Ensembles

The Titan Marching Band
A performing ensemble open to all wind and percussion instrumental students on campus regardless of prior marching experience or ability. It is an incredible experience and a great way to meet new people. Students interested in marching band must be enrolled in an advanced band class. Rehearsals begin during the summer with additional rehearsals required throughout the fall. Performances include, but are not limited to, football games, competitions and community events. Requirements for membership: Enrollment in Advanced Band class
Dues: camp and uniform fees, approx. $400.00

Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is not a daily class, but does meet regularly as an extra-curricular activity outside of school hours. Jazz Ensemble is for advanced performers who have an interest in jazz. Students must participate in a traditional music ensemble to be eligible for membership.

Dues: none, miscellaneous expenses as needed for uniforms and accessories

Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band A, and
Symphonic Band B
This class provides students an opportunity to learn the fundamental techniques of performance and rehearsal in preparation for local and regional performances. Participation in the GMEA District Band Festival is an essential component of Concert Band membership.

Dues: $100 per member, discount available with FAA Membership

Wind Ensemble
An ensemble of advanced musicians who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency, this class deals with advanced technical and musical concepts. Participation in the GMEA District Band Festival in addition to various performances is required of all members.

Dues: $100 per member, discount available with FAA Membership

Additional Information

Northview High School offers numerous opportunities for student performances through music, musical theater and drama. Many of the ensembles listed require enrollment in a particular music or drama course, while others meet as extracurricular activities. Participation is open to all students; however, some performing organizations require an audition both for placement and to maintain enrollment limits. Interested students should contact the director/Advisor for specific information.
