The Science Club is the parent organization for various science competitions throughout the school year including the Science Bowl, Science Problem Solving Bowl, Envirothon, National Ocean Sciences Bowl, etc. Practices are held weekly for the various competitions which take place from November through April. For the 2006 – 2007 school year the club will investigate two new competitions – the Chemagination Competition and the TEAMS/JETS Engineering competition.
Requirement for membership: An interest in competing in several science competitions throughout the school year.
Mission: To generate interest in the biological and physical sciences through competitions, activities and community involvement.
The Science Club will be charged with the following activities for the school year:
- Responsible for organizing and running the Science Fair
- Preparing and presenting hands-on science activities for Elementary and Middle School students
- Applying for, organizing and running a charter chapter of the Science National Honor Society
In addition, members of the Science Club will be given an opportunity to try out for the following competitions:
