Looking for a summer educational experience for next year? Consider a fantastic opportunity to study Spanish in Costa Rica (The Switzerland of Central America) by immersion and learn to Surf in the warm Pacific. This joint trip between Northview High School and Chattahoochee High School will be lead by Sara and Dale Folkins and is being scheduled for May 31 – June 15, 2008. Sara teaches Spanish at Northview and Dale is the Media Specialist at Chattahoochee. They will have informational meetings in September of 2007 at both schools. The selected area is near the Manual Antonio National Park, in the picturesque town of Quepos, about 2 ½ hours south of the capital of San Jose. The school is perched on top of a lush mountain with ocean views and surrounded by up-scale homes where the students are paired up with families for their home stay experience. Classes are geared to the Spanish level of the students and the home stay families help with language acquisition. Along with the Surf Camp there are other "eco-tourism" activities available to students from ocean kayaking to "canopy tours" and white-water rafting. For more information email -
