Fulton County Schools announces a program that allows students
to make up failed courses or earn additional high school credits through
a fourteen-week Night School. The program offers direct teaching and online
classes in core subject areas. Residents aged 16 or higher are welcome.
Where and when will Night School be offered?
McClarin High in south Fulton and Independence High in north
Fulton will host the Night School classes. Each class will meet for two
hours and twenty
minutes, twice per week. Classes will run either on Mondays
and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes will meet for fourteen
weeks, 5:10-7:30

Who can attend?
The program is open to all Fulton County School System high
school students and FCSS residents ages 16 and older who
are not currently enrolled in school. Out of system students may also attend.
Students
may take failed courses or courses for the first time. Students
may earn a maximum of 2 units (4, ½ units) per year in Night School.
All students must adhere to a strict attendance policy.
What is the cost?
In-system: $190 per ½ unit. In-sytem students currently receiving
free meals: $150 per ½ unit. Out-of-system: $390 per ½ unit.
Payments must be made by cash, money order or cashier’s check at the time
of registration. No personal checks. No refunds. FCSS residents ages 16-21
who are not currently enrolled in school attend free/no cost.
What is the class size?
Average student to teacher ratio is 26:1. At least 12 students
required for the class to be offered.
How do I register?
In-system students register with their home school counselor
and must be recommended for the program by the home school. Out-of-system
students and students not currently enrolled register at the Night School.
All fees will be collected at McClarin and Independence High Schools.
